Team Fortress 2 Rule Changes & Config Updates

After gathering feedback from teams in our initial TF2 Tournament, we are pleased to announce that we have made a few updates to our current ruleset and server config files. We will be testing out these changes during the Professional Placement Tournament and if necessary, we will make one last wave of changes at the end of this tournament before we release our final TF2 rules for Season 1.

Here are a few of the important changes...

    Quote:
ctf_2fort - Two 20 minute halves, the team with most points after both halves or 40 minutes wins the match. (1) capture = (1) point.

    * Overtime - Restart config and play until one team captures the intelligence. The team that captures the intelligence first wins the overtime.

cp_dustbowl - Both teams will attack and defend twice. The team with the most points after 4 rounds wins. There is no time limit for this map.

    * The stopwatch format will be used to score the last section of each round on this map. Each round, both teams will have the opportunity to attack and defend. If both teams are able to successfully capture all the points, the round will be given to the team who captures the last section of double control points the fastest. Teams should take a screenshot of the time remaining on the clock at the time of the last capture. The attacking team with the most time left on the clock at the end of the round wins.

cp_granary - Play to 3 points or 30 minutes and switch sides. First team to 4 points wins the match or the highest score after 60 minutes.

    * Overtime - Restart config and play one round. The team that wins the round, wins the overtime.

cp_gravelpit - Both teams will attack and defend two times. The team with the most points after 4 rounds wins. There is no time limit for this map.

    * The stopwatch format will be used to score this map. Each round, both teams will have the opportunity to attack and defend. If both teams are able to successfully capture all the points, the round will be given to the team who does so in the least amount of time. Teams should take a screenshot of the time remaining on the clock at the time of the last capture. The attacking team with the most time left on the clock at the end of the round wins.

cp_well - Play to 3 points or 30 minutes and switch sides. First team to 4 points wins the match or highest score after 60 minutes.

    * Overtime - Restart config and play one round. The team that wins the round, wins the overtime.

NOTE: All CP MAPS will be played until one team reaches the amount of points needed for that specific map. If the time limit expires, the score of the match will be reported as the score when the time limit expired. If the match is tied, an overtime will be played. NO SUDDEN DEATH ROUNDS WILL BE PLAYED.

The updated server configs can be found in the TF2 downloads section of the website. As always, we are interested in your feedback and would love to know what you think of the new changes. Please reply to this news post and your suggestions, questions, or concerns will be addressed. Also, registration for Season 1 is still OPEN, so get your team signed up today. Preseason will begin the first week of the new year.

stopwatch needs to take in all rounds not just the final round imo

its the same, the only time stop watch on the last cp doesnt actually add up is when say you're fight on a or b(gravel pit) and a team is capping with 0 seconds left, then it extends a little over giving one team more time, which isnt accounted for in a cp C round time.
