After an off-season of testing and tweaking, the new de_forge is finally here. Thanks to the feedback from the community and the hard work of Colin "Brute" Volrath, we are proud to release an updated version of the map de_forge.
In the update we have addressed the issue of the map being too terrorist sided, and have taken a few measures to ensure matches will now be more balanced.
NOTE: We understand that this is short notice for teams who have preseason matches this week, but this update is now the official version of de_forge. ALL matches played on de_forge MUST use the updated version.
Installation Instructions:
1. Unzip the file de_forge.zip.
2. Place the cstrike folder in the following directory:
ex. C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\YOUREMAIL\counter-strike
3. Open Counter-Strike and explore the new map.

this map is fucked up bad,
should have remade it completely with a better cbble like layout...

I dont like how the upper B rush was changed so much... It almost seems like it would take to long to get there

It's actually a good fix. think about it. Forge is an altered version of cbble. I think the reason they made forge was to add a new entrance into B, because cbble itselt has only 1 entrance and was considered a CT sided map. I think cevo was trying to change that but in their efforts to do so they made it a T sided map by making it way to easy for the T's to get into B.
This fix is perfect and I only hope to see it improve.

Okay I don't know what your problem is Pliskin but you obviously have one with either me or CEVO itself.
1. The map did not take me 6 days to make originally so please know what you're talking about before making such accusations.
2. You have no knowledge in making maps either Pliskin so don't accuse someone else when you're just as naive as he must be.
3. If you're so good at making maps then where is your portfolio of work? What maps have you developed? de_?????? Yeah exactly you haven't made anything so please be quiet while the adults do the work.
That's all I have to say on the matter in reference to you Mr. Pliskin and I can't wait to see your upcoming maps made in Mario Paint for Counter-Strike 1.6!
As for everyone else please keep the feedback coming so any glitches, errors, or anything can be reviewed and fixed.

Mr. Pliskin's comments were nuked and his account was suspended for his completely inappropriate and disrespectful behavior. Sadly, this his not his first suspension for this exact offense, or his first warning since his last suspension.
Brute is a great mapper and has always been willing to work with CEVO and the community to improve his maps. We appreciate all that he has done for us!

Was wondering why cbble was never used in the first place in cevo ... i know cal had rights to the other maps but i always liked cbble and forge is ok too ... just was wondering about the story behind it

Because de_cbble is one of the most ct sided map ever known to a counter-strike player. CEVO made a map similiar to de_cbble and it's much better on the forge map.

We did use de_cbble in our first few seasons, but it was clear that the community was not happy with that map. That is when we released de_forge.
