Ya, this season is gunna be ruined with that horrid map being played in the rotation.
Put contra and tuscan back in.
I'd would rather play scorch in pre-season rather then regular.

well, the map is not that bad actually. I dunno if u played it when it was used as cal's preseason map, but it was pretty fun

I tried this map in a 10 man.
Pretty fun stuff. Once you play it alot, I think people will enjoy it.
Btw Iskra the map is completely different from the rc1 release from CAL (It's more improved and quite impressive), but all in all it's worth being brought into this season's rotation.

i have played this map a few times, its pretty fun and i cant wait to play it this season to see if it will fit in or not. Also yes this version is very different from the one in cal. A lot better and i think most people will agree after they play it.

so retarded at most the map should be 1 weeks of the season because it is new. just so you can test it out... we have other maps we can play for the other week of scorch.

Gentlemen, this move was after 10 months of deliberation and testing of the maps. When a poll was taken on the 4 custom maps of CEVO, de_contra was not only ranked the lowest, but a number of teams left it off the list. So contra is out. It is not a very competitive map since teams refuse to even scrim it. As far as de_tuscan goes, I can throw it in, but it was ranked number 3 and when I had it in the AT2 rotation, teams complained that it sucked and they would rather not play it.
I don't just make up these rotations for fun, I use gathered poll information and feedback to determine maps. If you have not played more than 4 scrims, not 10 mans, 4 scrims on de_scorch, then you haven't given the map a chance and I would rather you do that before bashing it on a forum. It is a very competitive map and I've received nothing but rave reviews over it.

The thing is though, even though de_contra was polled the worst map, and some people "complain" about tuscan, there was never any voting from the cevo community comparing SCORCH to any other map? For all we know it could be worse than contra - or as you say one of the best. I guess you can leave it how it is now, but after wk3, where everyone has played de_scorch in a match setting twice, put a poll up asking the cevo community if they would rather play scorch again WK8, or rather play contra or tuscan. Atleast so you have feedback after the fact w/o ruining the season

I played the rc version of scorch in scrims and in 1 match, it was pretty good, but the final version compared to the rc version is a bit different, so i cant comment on the new version as far as if its good competitive map. As far as tuscan goes it's a fine map, even tho personally I prefer cpl_mill which leads me to my question to Celone. Since, CAL and CPL are no longer alive or whatnot, doesn't that give CEVO the right to use de_cpl_mill de_cpl_fire and de_cpl_strike IF THEY CHOOSE to? I was just curious about that

Agreed with this post. Leave it in because of the good reviews. After all of the teams have played it twice in the rotation, take a poll/vote and see if it is worth keeping around. I personally haven't played it in very long time, but I'm looking forward to something new this season.
EDIT: Just wondering what Iskra was wondering about cpl_mill and those maps. I'm sure teams would enjoy mill in the rotation considering it is a commom map to scrimmage on. [ Last edited by C-M on Mon Nov 9, 2009 at 12:04 pm CST ]

i want to see new maps all over the place. the same maps over and over get boring. scorch is grea if u give it a chance. hell, no one likes season or contra when they first came out..... but now ppl like thema lot... but i also would like to see losttemple again.... what ever happened to that map? its always been a good map imo
