Season 1 Playoffs Round 3

With the playoffs quickly progressing two rounds a week the pressure seems to crack some teams and others show the power of their roster. With a slew of midterms in college this week I haven’t been able to stay on top of preds like I would have but here there are a bit late but here they are. Some big upsets happened this week and looks like Lower Bracket is going to be just as exciting as the upper bracket if not even more. We have a series of good matchups this week as the incapable teams get weeded out and the capable ones get paired up against each other.
This week’s map is de_nuclear_cz. One more 1.6 based map…that really helps out the 1.6 pugs that still remain. I see this match being decided on quick rotates, T-side strats, and basically good shots and smart play. A rather mellow and gray version of de_nuke, de_nuclear_Cz basically is the same thing with a couple straighter edges and your nades won’t go through the walls. Spam spots are basically the same so really the 1.6-based teams will have a good time with this. Let’s see what the teams bring to the table in the last week of 1.6-based map for a while.
Upper Bracket
Bipolar vs. This is for Allah
The way I look at it is the MOTW in the upper bracket…well there are only two. Bipolar brought their A-game to the table against Simple Soldiers and dealt them their first loss in a while. Simple Soldiers was a good team with good players and bipolar still beat them with some rounds to spare. This is for Allah turned it around from the late regular season and are booming through playoffs but I think this is where their upper bracket run ends. Bipolar just showed their dominance by blowing through regular season and getting their back to back wins in the post season. There’s going to be some good shots flying across nuke I see this being a good match but bipolar pulling away as the match drags on. Good luck to both teams but I see bipolar coming out on top.

Not Applicable vs Nigeria’s Money Crew
A good team vs a decent team. With a great win over 50Cal NMC looks to continue their momentum here and this will be a rather one-sided match in my opinion. Not Applicable will dominate any below-par or just par team but when faced against a good opponent I don’t think they can shine and win out. They did beat Wd2 but NMC is a better and more capable team in terms of shots and teamwork coming off of a decent ESEA-im season. This should be a rather easy win for NMC seeing how they played off against 50CAL on inferno.

Lower Bracket
Simple Soldiers vs Together We Are Terrific
I see this match as another one of those N/A vs NMC matches where one team has the experience and the shots while the other is a decent team with okay shots. I see Simple Soldiers not having much problem if any beating TWAT in a good/okay match. It is also nuke and Simple Soldiers is a group of players who have played at the main/premier level of 1.6 and also at the main/invite level of CZ. Good luck to both teams but I see SS just taking it in this match against a decent TWAT team.

United Gamers (dominoeffect) vs. Renovatio (Meng)
Two teams with nothing new but their names. Both of these old-school teams are the lower bracket and I don’t know why. United Gamers came off of a tough loss 6-16L against This is for Allah and I see them matched up against a better team this week when they play Renovatio (RoN’s ESEA team). This matchup of good players on a 1.6 map should be an exciting match with United Gamers doing extremely well on nuclear against 50Cal(iix) squaring off against the Asian West Coast powerhouse Renovatio. I see Renovatio getting past this one because of their teamwork and their shots working together. I don’t know if United Gamers can bounce off that below par match against Allah and beat an even stronger Renovatio (Meng) Expect to see a good match either way.

Ya Dig? vs Get On Our Level
Unless Ya Dig? has that FFW card again this match should not even be close. As long as any of the 5 on GOOL show up they should be able to beat Ya Dig? due to the sheer overpowering shots on GOOL over Ya Dig?. Do I see Ya Dig? getting some rounds on ct-side or what not? Yes. But will they win? Not even Close. Ya Dig? has shows that they cannot really compete against the best teams but can beat the worse teams. GOOL, the 1.6main/CZmain team, should be able to make quick work against Ya Dig?.

50 Calibre Gaming vs. Azn Dragon Boiiz
Time and time again, the post season shows us that anything can happen. 50 Calibre Gaming lost to NMC on Monday in a very close match and now are bumped down to the lower brackets. The Azn Dragon Boiiz beat up on We Play Naked but was sent down to the lower brackets in a very close match against Bipolar. I think this has the potential of being a very close match because the rumor is that 50Cal won’t have their best playing tonight. We shall see what those backup players can do. Can they back the team up or will the much-hyped 50 Calibre Gaming fall in the mid-portion of playoffs? If the Azn Dragon Boiiz play like they did against Bipolar, this should be an interesting match to watch but if they played like they did against We Play Naked and the rest of the season, I give this match to 50 Calibre Gaming.

I drove to the lan center i play from, 45 minutes away, directly from school only to figure out i left my wallet at home. not only had i not eaten in 12 hours and was unable to buy food, i also couldnt add time to my account to play. You have 15 players on your roster and Page was nice enough to give us an extension till sunday which you completely ignored and didnt even try to see if you could field 5 out of the 15. If you use the same 5 in the finals im pretty sure both you and i both know youll get stomped, if you use jj, wakka and a few others I saw then it will be much closer.

Hey, we all felt bad having to make you guys play 4v5. I'm probably the most flexible person you will meet when it comes to scheduling. I love a good, competitive match. Explain this to me though:
How is it fair that we wait until Sunday just so you are able to have your invite player play along with the other 4 you want? Not to mention, we wouldn't even be able to field 5 on Sunday. It's not our problem you didn't use your brain when scheduling to even think about the fact that Tek's team might beat EG. Obviously if they are in the finals, they have a legit shot at winning the damn thing.
Now, no one "ignored" the extension given by Page. If he had extended the match until Monday, sure, we would've gladly rescheduled. Did he do that though? No. We even asked him if we could've played Monday, and you were right there in vent with us. His response was, "I can only extend it until Sunday." So, we were left with two options: 1.) Wait until Sunday when we can't field even 4 people, or 2.) Delay as long as possible for you guys hoping teknikal got done with him match soon. Obviously we went with choice #2.
All-in-all, quit whining. We are looking forward to playing you guys again, so it will be a fair match between the two teams. I don't think any of us take pride in the win seeing that half of it was played 4v5.
