Team Fortress 2 Season 6 - Registration Opens - $3,500 Prize Pool

CEVO is pleased to announce the opening of registration for the next season of Team Fortress 2. Season 6 features three skill divisions: Professional, Main, and Amateur. Each has different entry parameters, competitive expectations, and prizes.

The regular event membership fee for the Professional and Main Divisions is $20 USD per player. However, any player who registers by midnight CST Friday, July 23rd will receive a discounted early bird rate of only $15 USD. Players may register for Season 6 without already being on a team.

Paid teams will be able to reserve premium quality game servers for their matches, courtesy of NuclearFallout.

Registration for CEVO Team Fortress 2 Season 6 opens on Sunday, July 11th at 7 PM CST and will remain open until Sunday, August 15th at midnight CST.

How To Register:

All players will need to register a personal CEVO user account to participate in CEVO events. If you do not already have one, click "register now" under the CEVO Members section of the website and follow the instructions.

Team Captains:

The Team Captain or Manager is responsible for registering their team for the event. Captains who have already created a team for another CEVO Team Fortress 2 event do not need to create a new team - you can simply join this event with your current team. To sign your current team up for this event, login to your personal user account then go to "teams"->"view my teams" (or click "Manage My Teams" on the main account page). Click on the "manage" link corresponding to your team and then click "Sign Team Up for a CEVO Event".

If you are a Team Captain needing to create a team, login to your personal user account then go to "teams"->"create a team" (or click "Create a Team" on the main account page).

Once the team is created/registered for the event, each team member may join the roster by logging into their personal user account on the website and clicking “Join A Roster”.

Team Players:

In order to join a roster, your team captain must have already registered your team for this event. Once that is done, to join the roster, login to your personal user account and click "teams"->"Join a Roster" (or simply click "Join a Roster" on the main account page).

On the Join Roster page, choose this event from the drop-down menu, then type all or part of the team name and click "Find Team". When the search finishes, click the "join" button corresponding to your team.

When you join a roster for a paid event, if you have not already paid your event membership fee, you will be prompted for payment. CEVO accepts VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, e-Check, or PayPal payments. All online payments are processed through PayPal. You do not need to have a PayPal account to pay with a credit card through PayPal. If you would like to pay with a money order, please contact CEVO support for instructions.

To pay for a teammate’s account, please do so by logging into their personal account, or contact support for help.

Paying in Advance:

Players wishing to pay their event membership fee prior to joining a roster may do so at any time. Simply log into your personal user account and choose "join event" from the menu, or click "Register for an Event" on the main account page. From there you may choose the desired game and event from the options listed. Once your payment has been processed, you may join a roster any time prior to the start of the season as well as during roster unlock periods once the season has started.

Event Details:

The event will consist of three skill divisions, Professional (CEVO-P), Main (CEVO-M), and Amateur (CEVO-A).

The Professional Division (CEVO-P) will consist of the 12 most talented teams in North America. The teams for this division will consist of the top 4 teams from CEVO-P Season 5 in addition to the top 2 teams from CEVO-M Season 5 (if all 6 accept CEVO's invitation to compete). The other 6 teams will be invited to the division by CEVO or can apply for a spot. More information regarding this process can be found here: http://www.cevo.com/?page=forum&func=viewthread&id=10668&forumID=2

The Professional Division has only one National region. Teams will be competing for at least $2,000.00 in guaranteed cash if the division is full. This prize pot may be supplemented by additional prizes and additional money from a full Main division.

Professional teams will play two matches per week on Monday and Thursday nights.

NOTE: If Exultance TF2 and Just 4 Fame decide to compete in this division, they will not have to pay entry fees. This is a consequence of their 1st and 2nd place finishes in CEVO-M S5 (payment of entry fees were their prizes).

The Main Division (CEVO-M) is also now a paid division with the same entry fee as Professional. It is open to teams on an invitation/application basis. The top 4 teams from CEVO-M Season 5 are invited to this division in addition to the top 3 teams of CEVO-A Season 5 (they are named as they were during the previous season):

Exultance TF2
Just 4 Fame
Focus Gaming TF2
United Gamers
22d
Knockout gaming
Mainline Gaming

If you feel that your team is of the caliber necessary to play in the Main division, you need to submit a Main application. If you are unfamiliar with this process, you need to follow these steps:

• Sign up your team in CEVO-Amateur
• Get a minimum of 5 roster players (@ready).
• Captains will then see a Main application under their Control Panel.
• Simply fill out the application and submit.

More information can be found here: http://www.cevo.com/?page=forum&func=viewthread&id=10598&forumID=2

If this process does not work, you can email CEVO|Clay at gclay@cevo.com to apply. Once your team is in the division, you can pay through the website's control panel or you can send your entry fees to billing@cevolved.com (specify the purpose).

Main has a single region, just like Professional, called National. Teams will be competing for at least $1,500.00 in guaranteed cash. We are aiming to have 24-30 teams in this division; if the division has this many teams, the prize pot will be increased. There will be two matches per week in this division and the match deadline days are Monday and Thursday.

NOTE: If Exultance TF2 and Just 4 Fame decide to compete in this division, they will not have to pay entry fees. This is a consequence of their 1st and 2nd place finishes in CEVO-M S5 (payment of entry fees were their prizes). Likewise with 22d since they placed 1st in CEVO-A S5 (payment of CEVO-M entry fees was their prize).

The Amateur Division (CEVO-A) is specially designed for newer teams that are looking to get their feet wet in competitive play. New to this season is the fact that this division has one National conference, just like Professional and Main. There will be one match per week in this division and the match deadline day is Thursday of each week.

The champions of the Amateur division will get to play against the Valve TF2 development team in an exhibition match. Read more here: http://www.cevo.com/?page=forum&func=viewthread&id=10615&forumID=2

NOTE: Teams in this division may not reserve a NuclearFallout game server, will be limited to 2 disputes per season, and will not be eligible for any yet-unannounced promotions for paid members.

Is it just me or is it impossible to sign up for season 6? Getting an error saying there is no TF2 event to join.

do you know when the season's gonna start officially? sorry if you're not sure yet, but we have a couple of guys who have more difficulty making matches in the summer than afterwards

I have six people on my roster @ready and there is no Main application showing up for me.

mustardoverlord - The season will probably start the week of Monday, August 9th.

improper - You must pay for Main prior to applying. All teams that pay and apply are admitted.

I am new to the CEVO process, and I am just asking this question even though it may be terribly obvious...

Do Amature players have to pay the $20 player fee? I am a little confused because from reading this it sounds like they do not, but when reading the rules it seemed like they did have to.

Thank you in advance for the clarification.

I tried to create a team for CEVO-A in my account but after I have it created, it says there are no games to register for in tf2... Am I missing something?

Amateur is a free division so no, you do not have to pay an entry fee. I have yet to update the rules since last season but I am not sure what rule you are referring to.

I am new to this, so I figured I'd just make sure.
